Photo-A-Day Restart

I kinda fell off the wagon with my photo-a-day thing…

It happened around about the time I upgraded my old Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc to a Sony Xperia Z and forgot all about it. To be honest I’m not overly impressed with the Z’s camera. I mean it doesn’t really worry me too much, since the main reason I went with the Xperia Z is the water resistance and screen size, I just kinda expected a step up in image quality, not a step backwards. With any luck I should be able to hook up my 60D to the Z with the right USB host cable and control the camera from the phone, so that’ll solve that problem, and the image quality is still not too bad for a phone camera.

Other than the camera issue the phone is fantastic though, especially after rooting and removing all the bloatware, etc. My only other complaint is that is doesn’t support the ANT+ wireless protocol my Garmin fitness sensors uses, so I’m going to have to switch over to Bluetooth 4.0 BLE sensors as soon as there’s apps that support them. Not really a big deal.

Anyway, to make up for some of the days I missed here’s a random selection of images I took on the Xperia Z since I bought it.

From now on though I’m thinking I’ll post the daily photos onto my Twitter feed, and then do a weekly post here as a gallery, as opposed to making an individual post for each shot. Hopefully that’ll make things here a little less cluttered, and force me into using Twitter more.
