I went downstairs earlier tonight to bring up my uniform that had been hanging out. When I stepped off the bottom step, I noticed a frog sitting in the grass just off the edge. I’d seen this particular species before, and I knew that it probably wouldn’t hang around for long after I’d disturbed it, so I ran back upstairs, grabbed the camera, flash and my bike headlight, came back downstairs and shot it.
And here is the little guy/girl. I believe it is a Cyclorana brevipes, or Short-footed frog, although frogs are not my specialty. 60D + CZ 135mm.
I moved it from the pathway into one of our garden beds, in this case one growing endive for our bearded dragons. After I moved it it was being quite cooperative. 60D + CZ 135mm.
I was quite surprised to see frogs like this around here. All I’ve seen other than this are cane toads. 60D + CZ 135mm.
After a few shots it decided that it had had enough, so it decided to bail. 60D + CZ 135mm.
Although I managed to sneak this shot in whilst it was wandering away. 60D + CZ 135mm.
After all that I ran back upstairs to process the images. Now I need to go and get the washing, because I completely forgot about that.
